Faqs For International Employee Recruiting

Third country employees are individuals from countries that are not part of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA). These employees are considered non-EU nationals seeking employment within an EU member state. They need special work permits in order to be eligible for the Bulgarian labor market. There are additional regulations for the Bulgarian companies when hiring international staff.
A special case of non EU Employees are presented for citizens of Ukraine.

The process involves several steps:

1.Labor Market Test: The employer must prove that there is no suitable candidate from Bulgaria or another EU/EEA country for the position.

2.Work Permit Application: Submit an application to the Bulgarian Employment Agency with supporting documents such as a labor contract, proof of accommodation, and evidence of health insurance coverage.

3.Visa and Residence Permit: The employee must obtain a long-term residence visa type “D” and a residence permit.

Jobs suitable for international employees can vary widely depending on current labor market needs. Generally, industries such as Tourism, Hotel and Leisure Indusy, Clening, Production factories and other specialized technical fields have more opportunities available due to shortages within Bulgaria and across many parts of the EU.
